On this day in 1775, the American Revolution officially began with battles at Lexington and Concord in Massachusetts.  The American Colonists were victories in these battles

On this day in 1951, General Douglas MacArthur retired from the military.


On this day in 1987, THE SIMPSONS premiered as a brief cartoon during THE TRACEY ULLMAN SHOW.

On this day in 1995, the Alfred P. Murrah Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was bombed.  168 people lost their lives.

And, in Chuckery, Ohio in 1893, it was reported that some Chuckery residents traveled to Rosedale on Sunday to attend the Sunday School Institute.
