On this day in 1782, the Gnaddenhutten Massacre took place. Nearly 100 Christian Native Americans in Gnadenhutten, Ohio were killed by Militia from Pennsylvania in a retaliatory attack for a raid that took place in Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, the Pennsylvania Militia attacked indians who had nothing to do with the Pennsylvania raid.
On this day in 1817, the NYSE - New York Stock Exchange was founded.
On this day in 1936, the first oval stock car race was held at the Daytona Beach Road Course.
