On this day in 1865, Confederate President Jefferson Davis and his Cabinet fled Richmond, Virginia.

On this day in 1917, the United States declared war on Germany.

On this day in 2006, more than 60 tornados hit the United States. In Tennesse alone, 29 people were left dead.

And, in Chuckery, Ohio in 1885, Mr. C. C. Mc Cloud was kicked by his horse.
