Today in History - April 20


On this day in 1836, the Wisconsin Territory was created by the US Congress.

On this day in 1861, General Robert E. Lee resigned his commission in the US Army.  He did this so he could assume command of the Virginia military.

On this day in 1862, Louis Pasteur completed his first pasteurization tests.

On this day in 1999, a massacre occurred at Columbine High School in Colorado.  13 people were killed and 24 were injured.

On this day in 1970, Apollo 13 safely retuned to Earth.

And, in Chuckery, Ohio in 1892, there was no church at Lewis Chapel this week due to the Quarterly Meeting at Rosedale.
