On this day in 1785, the first public university is founded as the University of Georgia.

On this day in 1825, the U. S. Congress created the Oklahoma Territory.

On this day in 1967, the Outer Space Treaty was signed by the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union limiting the use of the Moon to peaceful missions only. It also prohibited the deployment of nuclear weapons in space.

On this day in 2006, Western Union ended its Telegram Service.

And, in Chuckery, Ohio in 1892, it was reported that Lou and Emma Rausch were in the the neighborhood visiting relatives.
