On this day in 1619, English Colonists disembarked in modern-day Virginia, giving thanks to God for their safe passage to the New World. This is considered by many to be the first true Thanksgiving in the New World.

On this day in 1674, Father Jacques Marquette founded a mission on the shore of Lake Michigan. The purpose of the mission is to minister to the Illiniwek Native American Tribe. This mission is at the sight of modern-day Chicago.

On this day in 1918, US President Woodrow Wilson becomes the first US President to travel to Europe while in office. He traveled to WWI peace talks at Versailles.

And, in Chuckery, Ohio in 1895, it was reported that a baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Mike Dellinger.
