On this day in 1790, US Congress moved from New York City to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

On this day in 1877, one of the earliest recordings of a human voice is made by Thomas Alva Edison using his phonograph invention. He recited Mary had a Little Lamb.

And, in Chuckery, Ohio in 1893, it was reported that in lieu of the traditional Christmas Tree, Lewis Chapel would erect a replica of the World's Fair Ferris Wheel on which to hang gifts for their Christmas Party.
