Today in History - March 11

On this day in 1824, the DEpartment of Indian Affairs was created by the United States Government.

On this day in 1861, the Confederate States of America adopted a constitution.

On this day in 2011, a 9.0 earthquake strikes near Japan. This earthquake triggered a massive tsunami which killed thousands of people. A large scale nuclear event also resulted from this earthquake.

And, on this day in Chuckery in 1885, it was reported that Mr. Peter Rausch died at his residence last week.
