On this day in 1621, the Wampanoag Indians signed a peace treaty with the Pilgrims in the Plymouth Colony in New England.

On this day in 1622, the Jamestown Massacre took place as Algonquin Indians killed 347 English settlers near Jamestown, Virginia. This was about 1/3 of the colony's population.

On this day in 1943, the city of Khatyn in Belarus was burned by German forces. The entire population of the city was killed.

And, on this day in Chuckery in 1893, it was reported that John Huffman Sundayed at Allen Center.
