On this day in 1620, Myles Standish became the first commander of the Plymouth Colony.

On this day in 1801, the US Presidential Election ends in a tie. The US House of Representatives broke the tie by choosing Thomas Jefferson over Aaron Burr to serve as the third President of the United States.

On this day in 1809, Miami University in Oxford was chartered by the State of Ohio.

On this day in 1933, Newsweek magazine was first published.

And, in Chuckery, Ohio in 1886, James Smith has sold 125 acres of land from his farm. This land is on the north side of the road.
