On this day in 1836, Samuel Colt patented the Colt Revolver.

On this day in 1901, the United States Steel Corporation was incorporated by J. P. Morgan.

On this day in 1919, Oregon became the first state to tax gasoline.

And, in Chuckery, Ohio in 1902, it was reported that Mrs. George Bishop left for Van Wert to visit her bedridden father, Mr. Dascher.
