On this day in 1864, General William Tecumseh Sherman burned Atlanta and began marching to the sea.

On this day in 1939, FDR helped lay the cornerstone for the Jefferson Memorial.

On this day in 1969, the first Wendy's restaurant was opened in Columbus, Ohio by Dave Thomas.

And, in Chuckery, Ohio in 1895, Dick Watson and his wife welcomed a baby boy a few days ago. Conrad Nicol and his wife welcomed a baby girl.
