On this day in 1620, the Pilgrims on the Mayflower first set sight on Cape Cod in New England.

On this day in 1862, General Ambrose Burnside takes command of the Union Army after George B. McClellan is removed from command.

On this day in 1906, President Theodore Roosevelt becomes the first US president to officially visit another country while president. He travelled to Central America to check the work progress on the Panama Canal.

On this day in 1967, the first issue of ROLLING STONE was published.

And, in Chuckery, Ohio in 1886, it was reported that it is spelling bee time in the local school. And, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Hunt had a baby boy last week.
