On this day in 1492, a meteorite struck a wheat field at about noon near Alsace, France. This meteorite is the oldest known to have hit Earth with a known impact date.

On this day in 1910, the first air-freight shipment is made from Dayton, Ohio to Columbus, Ohio. The Wright Brothers made a delivery for Max Moorehouse, the owner of a department store.

On this day in 1944, Franklin Delano Roosevelt was reelected to a fourth term as US President.

And, in Chuckery, Ohio in 1904, it was reported that Mrs. Anson Smith visited friends in Plumwood on Sunday.
