On this day in 1863, John Hunt Morgan and several of his men escaped the Ohio Penitentiary in Columbus and returned to the South.

On this day in 1924, the first Macy's Thanksgiving Parade was held in New York City.

On this day in 1963, President Lyndon B. Johnson made his first address to Congress since ascending to the presidency upon the death of JFK.

And, in Chuckery, Ohio in 1895, it was reported that quail and rabbits were plentiful in Chuckery.
