On this day in 1929, US Admiral Richard Byrd became the first person to fly over the South Pole.

On this day in 1963, President Lyndon B. Johnson formed the Waren Commission to investigate the assassination of JFK.

And, in Chuckery, Ohio in 1893, it was reported that the Lewis Chapel Sunday School is starting to plan for a Christmas Celebration at the church.
