Today in History - November 23

On this day in 1863, the Battle of Chattanooga began as General Ulysses S. Grant reinforced Union troops already in the area.

On this day in 1889, the first jukebox went into operation at the Palais Royale Saloon in San Francisco, California.

And, in Chuckery, Ohio in 1898, it was reported the German Lutherans of Chuckery had acquired land from the farm of Gottlieb Burns to create a cemetery near the Mitchell Cemetery on the London-Marysville Road.
