On this day in 1903, Panama and Colombia separate into two countries.

On this day in 1918, Poland declared its independence from Russia.

On this day in 1964, the citizens of Washington, D. C. are first allowed to vote in a presidential election.

And, in Chuckery, Ohio in 1885, it was reported that several young ladies of the neighborhood have organized a brass band.
